Existence

"If you have always existed, why can I not find you?"
He responded, "I have been in you from the beginning. Where did you look? Did you think I was somewhere?"

"If you are omniscient, what can I learn from you?"
She answered, "Reach out with your arms and wrap yourself in them. Do you not feel me? What is it you wish to learn in life? I am and have always been just this."

"Why can I not grasp you and become one with you?"
Its' whispering sigh blew across him and through him. The world and the universe around it provide many lessons, but as you evolve from one plane to another, you may never realize the transition you are making, if you truly make one. What is now has always been and will always be, and what has been is nothing and shall remain.

The Universe

I opened my eyes
the whole world to see
I am blind as I can possibly be
I perked my ears
the sound of life to hear
I am deaf to all around me
My tongue I used
to taste an abundance of favor
My taste buds are all dead
I drew deep breath
the aroma of the earth to savor
My sense of smell fails
I touched and felt
all upon the roads of life
My nerve endings are dulled

The universe is filled with sensations
and it is nothing at all

Orb

The snow white orb sinks slowly into its' slot in the ground before the ebony background, the brilliant contrast thrilling to view. It looks like a giant illuminated dropping into a hole in the earth, slowly sinking into the sands, only to emerge again the next night slightly altered in appearance. Yet if we are patient, the perfect orb will return to heighten our senses again from time to time, when the elements are right. Not so often as to become common, but often enough that we can sometimes relate to another time, another place, and bring back memories of fonder places, better people, or the same ones, just earlier on.

Neverland

It is inherently probable that man can come to solve the problems that confront us as a society. We are capable of identifying each of the causes of the breakdowns in the orderly progression as we move steadily toward a more ideal world in which to live. We recognize the economic barriers we have to overcome to help, not only ourselves to be more successful and to avoid the pitfalls of our fathers, but to assist the less fortunate around us and throughout the world to improve their existence and share in this better life. We have the capacity to arbitrate our differences, to honor our beliefs without surrendering them in the name of someone else's. Our life, our world, our knowledge can be better simply because everything is before us now to make it so.

However, it won't happen. We are incapable of doing what is right; we are not able to surrender our own piece of the riches; and we never will give up our beliefs or our way of life nor will anyone else to make the necessary steps to change the world and move us forward. We lack balance.

Explaining Life

Most seek some meaning to life, an explanation for the end game, "what does it really mean?" Strange search to engage in, when the answer makes as much sense as the question. So the exchange goes something like this.

"Where goes a person go when he has figured it all out, when he has reached the end of the search?"

"He goes into the mountains and turns into a mountain goat."

You can appreciate the candor of the response or ask again.

"Where does a person go when he has figured it all out; when he has reached the end of the search?"

"Last week the breeze blew gently over the lake, stirring the moored boats at the dock."

The Answer

Two learned colleagues sat together one spring day on a park bench overlooking the campus. They watched students walk by on their way to class. One, the younger of the two, had, at a time, been the pupil of the elder. Now they both were professors, highly regarded. Younger said aloud, "How will all the learning we have imparted on these youths be taken; how will they use this knowledge?" His colleague continued to view the passing of the young students, as if no words had been spoken. Again, Younger asked, "How will we explain our teaching?" Yet again, his elder companion ignored him and continued to enjoy the spring day and the many people around them. Finally, the younger teacher said, "What will the future generations understand of us?" The elder one rose and walked away.

Handbrushes

The Windman asked him, "Where are you from?"
His friend, Grosom, responded that he was from the mountain village of Offutt.
The Windman asked him if they had handbrushes in Offutt when he was there.
Grosom replied, "Of course, they had those there. They had them but they did not have them in Cheyenne."
Oh you have been in both Offutt and in Cheyenne then," said the Windman. "I did not know this."
"I never was in Cheyenne, but I was in Offutt."
"If you were never there, how can you say that."
"Rather than have me do all the talking, it is you who should be doing some of the talking," said the frustrated Grosom.
The Windman replied, "I have never minded speaking, but I do not like being misunderstood."

The Black Pond

You're walking through the woods. Due to the terrain and the overgrowth, you must stay on the narrow trail. As you come down a slope and around a sharp bend you encounter a very large pond. The banks of the pond are extremely steep and are rocky. All of the rocks are sheer and slick and cannot be traversed to allow passage around the pond. The forest is much too dense to allow you to seek an alternate path around the pond and you must travel on to your destination beyond the far side of the pond. The pond is too wide to be leaped, too cold to be swum and there are no boats, rafts or fallen logs in sight. You have no tools with you that you might use to cut branches with to fashion any type of floating device. The pond's water is black and the depth cannot be determined. When you attempt to step off the path to test the depth of the water, you cannot find the bottom. Dusk is but an hour away, and you must be on the other side by nightfall. How is it that you will reach your destination?
