Despair

When despair is upon you
And there's nowhere to go
Escape the turmoil and
Look to your inner self
For in that calming place
All the answers are found
Aside from the dismay and fear
As long as you remember
Life can be a peaceful thing
Lived for just you, not them
Then you can really live

With the breeze blowing
The air is stirred slightly
Moving the mind and body
Slowly then the voice engages
Politely at first, then not so
Then harshly speaks the mind
And then all goes wrong again

Understanding

Understanding life is no more than
Watching the leaves as they drift
Feeling the rain drops as they fall
Noticing the snowflakes gather
Viewing the river as it runs
It is then you understand.
