Safety in Shadows

Step away from the light

Back into the shadows

And feel the light fade away

As the darkness enfolds

Comforting and soothing

Yet those beyond still pass

But if you’re quiet, they move by

Never noticing you there

So you slide back safely

Into the arms of the shade

Knowing the mist protects

And the shadows hide you

So briefly you breathe

And worry passes away

'Cause the evil cannot touch

And the people cannot reach

Their harm evades you here

In the shadows you are yourself

And peace reigns over all

But eventually it must end

Then you step forth again

And the light flashes upon you

As you move amongst them
